Good architecture begins with questions. What may sometimes feel like an architect being overly curious is often an essential part of understanding a client’s needs, priorities, and vision—and transforming them into thoughtful design.

Architecture should not be treated primarily as an art object. Unlike a painting or a sculpture, a building directly influences people's daily lives, affecting their safety, health, productivity, comfort, emotions, and overall well-being. While architecture certainly possesses artistic qualities, its first obligation is to serve humanity.

The true tenet of architecture is not aesthetics alone. Its foremost responsibility is to create structures that endure, protect, and support human life throughout time. Beauty is an essential component of architecture, but beauty alone is insufficient if it is not the result of successfully resolving the physical, emotional, social, operational, environmental, and economic needs of those who use the building.
